About

The Lebanese Bakery and Kitchen have come a very long way in a very short time since opening its doors in 2019. What started out as a tiny corner cafe nestled in the heart of Imam Haron Road has evolved into two beautiful stores, allowing us to bring an authentic taste of Middle Eastern food to the hearts, homes and bellies of our loyal customers.

Our food is honest, offering daily and preservative-free freshness, quality and comfort with every bite. As human beings, we are far from perfect, but we strive to give our customers great service, a friendly smile and fresh food made with love. Come bask in the warm ambience of our humble home and taste happiness through good food.

Our Story So Far

Chef Clara: A Her-Story

Affectionately dubbed The First Lady of The Lebanese Bakery and Kitchen, Chef Clara is the heart and soul of our brand. What some would call shrill (a haunting review on Google), others call charming, but one thing’s for sure – Chef is a ball of unfiltered energy, bringing her passion for Middle Eastern foods and flavours to the fairest Cape and beyond, with flair, dedication and her own brand of sass.

Clara is a trained chef and spent 3 years living in Cairo, Egypt. She travelled around the Middle East and Europe and fell in love with Mediterranean and Levant cuisine. Having worked here and there in Cape Town, she finally settled with The Lebanese Bakery in 2019.

Our Prince of Egypt

They say that behind every great man, there has to be a great woman. Well, now that you’ve met Chef Clara, let’s talk about the man in this perfect pairing. Khaled is the visionary father figure behind The Lebanese Bakery and Kitchen, and is the reason why our falafel is so famous – the recipe took two years to perfect, a testament to our belief that the best things take time.

As a skilled civil engineer for most of his adult life, Khaled is no stranger to technical difficulties, facing each challenge with a clear head, a fistful of patience and a heartful of faith. As the co-founder of The Lebanese Bakery and Kitchen, Khaled blends his brilliant business sense with creativity, playing his part behind the scenes as the supporting role to Chef Clara and the team.

Our Vision, Mission and Values

We believe that happiness is best experienced over good food, and our dishes reflect the tradition, quality, and love we put into every bite.

Our vision is to grow while remaining committed to freshness, quality, and trust. We strive to set the standard in our field, nurturing relationships with our customers and team as we expand our presence.

At our core, we value genuine authenticity, warm hospitality, and excellence in leadership. We are driven by teamwork, integrity, sustainability, and a passion for culinary innovation, all of which guide us in creating memorable food experiences.
Teamwork makes the dreamwork at The Lebanese Bakery and Kitchen. From our welcoming front of house team and open air bakers making daily pita, saj and ka’ak, to the all-star kitchen team working behind the scenes to produce the Middle Eastern flavours you have come to know and love. It truly takes a village.
